Every couple fights. What keeps a relationship strong is how you repair afterwards.
Wait until you are both calm
If your heart is pounding, take 20 minutes apart first. Say "I need a break, I will come back to this" so it does not feel like walking away.
Start with "I feel", not "You always"
"I felt ignored when you were on your phone at dinner" invites a conversation. "You never listen" starts a new fight.
Listen to understand
Repeat back what you heard: "So you felt I was not taking your work stress seriously?" You do not have to agree to understand.
Try a session together
On MannMitra you can invite your partner into a couple session, so a counsellor can help you both feel heard.
