How MannMitra works

No waiting lists and no long forms. Talk to someone in a few minutes, from your phone or laptop.

  1. 01

Pick someone you feel comfortable with

Filter by concern, language and price. Every profile shows the counsellor’s type, experience, rating and whether they’re online right now.

  2. 02

    Add money to your wallet

Recharge from ₹50 with UPI or card (18% GST is added at checkout). There’s no subscription and no booking fee.

  3. 03

    Chat or call, privately

Your session starts as soon as they accept. You pay per minute, only while you talk, and can end it any time. Your first 1 minutes are free. Your number is never shared.

  4. 04

    Keep going at your pace

Come back to the same counsellor whenever you need, or book a therapy program: a set of scheduled sessions with them, paid upfront.

How we choose our counsellors

Every profile is reviewed before it goes live. Each counsellor’s type, such as listener or counsellor, is shown clearly on their profile, so you always know who you’re talking to.

  • Qualifications checked

Degrees and certificates are reviewed by our team before a profile goes live.

  • RCI registration verified

Clinical psychologists must hold a valid Rehabilitation Council of India registration.

  • Signed code of conduct

Every counsellor agrees never to share contact details or take a client off the platform.

  • Ongoing quality checks

Ratings and reviews are watched closely. Anyone who breaks our rules is suspended.

Chats are encrypted. Calls are connected inside the app, so numbers are never shared.

Your data is never sold, and you can delete your account at any time.

Frequently asked questions

What is MannMitra?

MannMitra is an emotional support app for India. You can chat or call trained listeners and verified counsellors in Hindi, English and 8 other Indian languages. There are no appointments. You pay per minute, only while you talk, and the first 5 minutes with any counsellor are free.

How do I talk to a listener online?

Sign in, add money to your wallet and pick a listener who shows as online. Tap chat or call and you're connected straight away. You can use a nickname, and your phone number is never shared with the listener.

What's the difference between a listener and a counsellor?

A listener is a trained peer who offers a calm, non-judgemental ear, often from lived experience. A counsellor has a formal qualification in psychology or counselling and can give professional guidance. Every profile on MannMitra shows clearly which one you're talking to.

How much does MannMitra cost?

Each listener and counsellor sets a per-minute rate, shown on their profile before you start. You recharge your wallet from ₹50 (plus 18% GST) by UPI or card. There's no subscription and no booking fee, and your first 5 minutes are free.

Is MannMitra anonymous?

Yes, as much as you want it to be. You can use a nickname instead of your real name. Calls connect inside the app, so your number stays hidden, and chats are encrypted. We never sell your data.

Are the counsellors on MannMitra verified?

Yes. Our team checks every profile before it goes live. We review degrees and certificates, clinical psychologists must hold a valid RCI registration, and every expert signs a code of conduct. After that, we keep monitoring ratings, complaints and response times.

Which languages can I talk in?

Hindi and English, plus Gujarati, Marathi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Punjabi. Use the language filter to find someone who speaks yours.

Do I need to book an appointment?

No. You can start a chat or call with anyone who's online right now. If you'd like regular sessions with the same counsellor at fixed times, you can book a therapy program instead.

Can my partner join a session?

Yes. Start a couple session with a counsellor who offers couples counselling, then invite your partner with your MannMitra ID, an invite link or their mobile number. They join only after accepting, and they can't see your earlier sessions.

Is MannMitra an emergency service?

No. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 112. For free mental health support at any hour, call Tele-MANAS, the Government of India helpline, on 14416.
